Friday, the 13th
haha...taking cue from aditi's blog, im here to write something about friday, the 13th. i was born on friday, time being 10:13pm to be exact...13 was my roll no. in school for many years. 13 was my two digit sum total of my tenth, twelveth and iit roll no.(or entry no.). 13th has been very lucky number for me along with 17. i got exact 13 alphabets in my name.
on this friday,13th... i attended a seminar representing my company at a five-star hotel. i was seated in second row and damn, in the middle of the lecture hall. and there i was sleeping in front of everyone just few minutes after the beginning of seminar...Gud beginning for me..:)
after some time speaker even made all of us to stand and jig ourselves a bit to shake off our sleep...ha ha
if it would have been some other person, friday ,the 13th would have surely struck him...but not me. later when they had QA session to see who were most attentive of listeners, i answered the first question and won myself a cordless mouse...even the speaker was bemused by this..he told me later.
then i tasted red and white wine for the first time in my life, but didnt found them to my liking(i think there is a ritual like procedure comprising of 5 S'es ...like smelling, shaking and sipping..i forgot the other two S'es...(help needed from angel on this topic) to drink wine)...waise i dont like hard drinks at all..so nothing new.so this friday was lucky to me rather than anything else.
one gud news-- i am about to get my own brand new room (sharing it consciously with Mango, earlier i shared with my sis) at home. first floor of the house is almost done. so, my room with walls painted in two different shades of blue will be my space on this planet. (i suggested blue for walls, mango suggested pink...yuuukkkkk..one chocolate and he was yelling blue blue...hoo haa india..here is blue billion.. :) ) Thanks Dad.
i'll try to put up the pics of my room as well as eva's room asap.also i bought saari for my mom all alone last tuesday, and she liked it....so i have completed my training as a shopaholic with flying colours... :))

ReplyDeleteOk, i'll grant you that, out of my 21 years on this earth, and i dunno how many Fridays 13th (can anyone tell me??), one of them, only one, was a very unlucky day for me. But as God (or a neighbour who took pity of me, in matter of a fact) realised that i was too shocked by bad luck, he turned my situation around to give me a fantastic occasion (ok, at the time i considered it fantastic. I was 6 or 7, spare me!) But you'll all agree that that is too coincidal an event to make me superstitious... Whereas 47, THAT is a freaky number !(wink to Shailen!)(i think it is 47, no? lol)
But then again, you know me... I wouldn't remember much on any Friday 13th, or any other day except today and yesterday!! Look at me, i've even forgotten what i did 3 days ago! (oh, that WAS Friday 13th?...! lol)
ReplyDeleteAs for the wine... Hmmm let me ask my father. (lol) Just kidding. Actually, he would know a lot more about it than me, since he drinks one bottle a meal, or just about.... Anyways, given a chance, i'd say: smell, swish/ swirl, see, sip, savour (or spit - indeed during wine tasting events, if u don't want to end up completely wasted, u take a sip of every wine, to get the flavour, but spit it out to avoid drinking the alcohol! sounds like a waste, huh?!) And please never again mention the idea of shaking a wine!! U wanna kill it's "shape"?! :D

by shaking i meant 'swirling' only..dont mind it..no killing of anyone's 'shape' (lol)...and yeah i know all abt tht spitting style..all courtesy of Discovery channel's wine yard tour:)..and ur memory is too leaky for u to remember anything ..i m still wondering how u remembered one particular incident..any details coming??..yeah its 47 only. :P
By the way, it came back to me.... after a hard time in bed trying to call up my memory (lol): I got my ear pierced (hmm...!!), and send u a package, so do tell me, Nare, when and if u recieve it! It should reach u by the end of the week - i hope!
