...

It was the case of so near yet-so-far. I would not say that a trip to Andaman was my father's childhood wish but yeah, its one of his long cherished dream and a must-to-do thing in his life's itinerary. he always wished to go to Andamans, and now that he has visited it, its something like a man sailing in his ship deep into the ocean and dying of thirst- "water, water everywhere; not a drop to drink". he was lying on his bed just one wall in between him and the famous Cellular Jail...but that single wall was enough to separate them even after covering so much distance from Delhi to Andaman. (something about relations and life can be learnt in this irony...) now its in time's hand , when he come back again to bridge this small distance. Best of luck, Dad...and get well soon.

trip that tripped

I slept on the floor beside my father's bed in hospital during nights. i and papa even witnessed a death in the ICU ward where he was admitted to. i had dinner with a dead body lying just one bed away. the dead body wasnt removed till early hours of the morning , so that meant we slept with dead body in the same room. Now thats one thing you cant plan for in any trip and it was one of those experiences which not many can pay testimony to. Nurses- they deserve a special mention here, both for their sincerity in performing their duty and for their beauty. they were truly beautiful in Indian way- that means they were dusky with sharp features.(unlike those white painted metro beauties with loads of makeup..their whiteness can even make a European to blush). thanks to those nurses, Doctors, support staff and my uncle Mr R for helping us.
My uncle Mr R, who was playing host to us is a Indian Coast Guard Officer, so i was able to visit ICGS Varad and some more small ships on-board and had first hand experience of these ships and Coast Guard choppers too. it was really amazing to see all those BIG machines...thats all what I saw on my visit to Andaman.

(most of my pictures were taken from inside the plane as we never went for sight-seeing..so i shot clouds while among them...this pic is also one of them, will upload more pics later)
