Goa, burden of religion and misc.

In a moment of spontaneity when I surprise even myself, I decided to spend my weekend in goa and within a day flew down to goa with my oldest school friend. It all happened on weekend preceding diwali. It was my third trip to goa, but I admit once again that, I didn’t like goa this time too. I enjoyed only when we were having fun whilst playing water sports…and that ended for just half an hour. I just like one thing about goa and that is its resorts and hotels all equipped with swimming pools. Again I spent more time in cooling myself in swimming pool than in Arabian Sea.

My Sikh friend, Jas, had his hair cut in goa. He always felt uncomfortable with this “burden of religion” and was never too keen to follow it up any further. And Goa happened to be his place of Nirvana, his place of Freedom…and he got it in front of his oldest friend. In aftermath of his courageous and rather bold step, his parents haven’t talked to him since they came to know of all this and his brothers, one younger, one older; are too much excited and enjoying every bit of it(maybe getting inspired too, god knows…)

Thanks to MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) and the GREAT Indian Cattle Population, me and my dad had a terrific, horrifying and life endangering experience on diwali eve. A full grown bull jumped on our front windshield smashing it into bits while we were waiting at a red light junction. We escaped without being hurt. There are many possibilities which could have led to a graver situation.

Diwali was all too good and I chose not to wish anyone as it was too obvious that I wish best of things for my friends all year round, then why to express it so explicitly on diwali. Also, It lends an air of exclusivity to my existence…getting out of routine…lol

And I still believe that you are the only one i know who doesn't appreciate Goa!! :D
I personnally myself have not been there... somehow is not quite my thing either, and when we were down in the South on december, it would have been way too crowded and expensive! We chose the smaller and more charming routes to the Ocean! ;)
